Within the SOUTHERN RAILWAY section you will find the following subsections covering all the Constituent Companies, SOUTHERN REGION and Minor Railways, Signal box diagrams and track plans, Signal boxes and signals. Stations, Structures, Modelling articles and General related articles.

This leaves BRITISH RAILWAYS, which is a personal collection of articles rather than the more comprehensive Southern Railway list above. The goods vehicles of the Great Western Railway, London, Midland & Scottish Railway, London and North Eastern Railway and the Private Owner wagons as found in the magazines. Together with Industrial Locomotives, Government or Military Service railway equipment, Road Vehicles and a selection of articles from The Railway Magazine that have taken my fancy. The list information is drawn from only those magazines that I have copies of gathered over the years, and therefore has many omissions. It also has some not listed elsewhere and some corrections. So this is not a definitive listing, I leave that to others better able. Rather a source of information that formal listings do not always cover. Therefore you will find references to follow on letters, postscripts, my comments and addition notes gathered from other sources. The reason for the inclusion of other Railways Goods Vehicles will be apparent by the study of photographs of goods trains and goods yards. In many the only Southern Railway owned items are the locomotive and the guards van.

Remember these are only references to the articles as the content is copyright. I, also for copyright reasons, am unable to offer any kind of reproduction service for these entries. However I will check if an entry is queried for as mentioned elsewhere I do get it wrong from time to time. I cannot vouch for the accuracy of any article, nor can I indicate how useful it may be to you, although some of the more blatant errors even I spotted. You will need to judge these matters for yourself. Some so-called drawings are very basic weight diagram type sketches or rough outlines for converting propriety stock. Normally the earlier dated articles are more likely to be the basic sketches so if more than one entry is listed try the latest first. Failing that use one of the chargeable search services offering to source information, they should check the information for the amount of information provided and the level of accuracy as part of their service.

Browse and I hope you discover the entry for that article you are looking for. Please note I am NOT a dealer in used magazines, so if you wish to obtain a certain copy, try my links section.
